When, as a choirboy at St. Peter’s the nuns told him to “lip it, or as an 8th grader the baseballs came in “too hard and too fast for ol’ Jimmy” (in his words), Jim wasn’t discouraged. These bumps in the road led to his lifelong love and pursuit of the game of golf. And golf has been good to Jim.
Golf paid the way through Southern Illinois University and led to that accounting degree. And later, golf saw Jim through the Army and the Vietnam War years. A scratch golfer for most of his life, Jim can lay claim to numerous area and city titles, and his many trophies for golfing victories would fill a large trophy case.
An equally large part of Jim’s life is his family. Wife of 24 years and real estate partner, Judy, 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren fill the balance of the hours.
If you have a problem…give it to Jim. He’ll come up with several ideas. Some of them may seem ‘off the wall”, but he’ll find an innovative solution. Careers in Finance and Accounting have included the fields of manufacturing, investments, insurance and banking. Being a Realtor, for Jim, is just another way to help others find solutions and solve problems. And of course, through it all, on and off the golf course, Jim Schonhoff is known by all as a gentleman
